Dear Runyon Families,

I wanted to bring you up to date on the construction/bond plans for our dear

Runyon. We had a meeting on September 4th for all parents to see and

hear the future outlook for Runyon. There will be a Community meeting on

October 22nd, at 6:30pm, which everyone is also invited to attend.

At the meeting on the 4th the parents were introduced to the Project

Manager, Mark Crisman, the architect, Roy Tanner and Diane Doney,

Assistant Superintendent of Business Services. Mr. Crisman gave a

description of the issues with our building. Mr.Tanner shared future

drawings of the roof and the changes to the Library, Cafeteria, Gym and

classrooms. The work will start in May of 2015 and is projected to be done

in December of 2015. Due to the amount of work and keeping in mind

the best learning environment for children and staff, Runyon will need to

relocate for that same period of time. We will be moving into Whitman

Elementary at, 6557 S. Acoma St. The programs that are currently housed

at Whitman will be moving into the Options building and four temporary

classrooms on their property. Although to move will not be without

challenges, the staff and I are extremely excited for the future of Runyon.

I encourage you to attend the Community meeting on October 22nd at

6:30pm, here at Runyon. This will give you an opportunity to see the future

look of Runyon and to hear many more details.

As always, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me

at 303-347-4650 or TMeisinger@ lps.k12.co us.
