February is Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Concurrent Enrollment (CE) Month, a time to recognize the powerful programs that give Littleton Public Schools students a head start on college and career.

Across the district, CTE and CE opportunities are thriving. With over 8,000 student seats in CTE courses and more than 6,000 student seats in CE courses annually, LPS students are engaging in hands-on, career-connected learning that prepares them for life after graduation, whether that path leads to college, a skilled trade, the workforce, the military, or another post-secondary opportunity.

Why CTE and CE Matter

LPS CTE and CE programs combine academic learning with hands-on application. From aerospace to health sciences, engineering to multimedia, students are designing, building, and problem-solving in environments that reflect today’s workplaces.

Colorado’s Post Workforce Readiness priorities highlight three key elements that help students launch successfully after high school:

  • Industry-recognized credentials

  • Post-secondary college credits (including Advanced Placement, Concurrent Enrollment, and International Baccalaureate)

  • Work-based learning experiences

LPS CTE and CE programs are intentionally designed to give students access to all three. Students can earn credentials, gain college credit, and apply their learning in real professional environments, all before graduation.

Join the Post-Secondary Learning Advisory Committee (PSLAC)

LPS is seeking students, parents, staff, and community members to join the Post-Secondary Learning Advisory Committee, which supports programs including CE, CTE, AP, IB, and SWAP. Your voice can help shape post-secondary success for all students!

Shout Out to our Educators

Be sure to check out Euclid STEM teacher, Evan Biddulph’s podcast episode produced for the Technology Student Association: Building Leaders Through Belief. You’ll hear Mr. Biddulph’s reflection on 22 years of inspiring students through hands-on learning and leadership!

This CTE and CE Month, we thank our teachers, specialists, and adjunct faculty for their extraordinary work: your impact is lasting and profound!
