LPS spelling bee winners with adults at EPIC Campus

The 2026 LPS District Spelling Bee brought excitement and determination to the EPIC Campus on Wednesday, February 4. The event was a huge success, thanks to the incredible talent of our district's young spellers.

A total of 49 outstanding students from fourth to eighth grade seized the opportunity to represent Littleton Public Schools while competing to earn a place in the district competition in one of three ways:

  • Winning their school’s Oral Spelling Bee

  • Winning their school’s Written Spelling Bee

  • Scoring among the top spellers on the districtwide written assessment

Angela Christensen, former president of the LPS Board of Education, was our pronouncer and did a phenomenal job leading the Bee through six rounds. Students spelled words like anise, facetious, gaspesian, aficionado, and ullage. Our final round had two students, and Devlan Sandhu, a sixth grader at Newton Middle School, won by successfully spelling marimba and déjà vu.

Runner-up Emery Clary, also a sixth grader from Newton, delivered an outstanding performance and will be joining Devlan in the State Spelling Bee.

Congratulations to all 49 students who competed and represented their schools with excellence, along with a huge thank you to the many staff members who helped organize and support this event: your efforts made this possible!

We are proud of our talented students and wish Devlan and Emery the best of luck at the State Spelling Bee!
